Solar Powered Trash & Recycling Stations Installed

The Harrisburg Downtown Improvement District has purchased and installed two solar-powered trash & recycling stations in the downtown business district. The stations, manufactured by BigBelly, are the first of their kind to appear in Harrisburg. One station is located at the corner of Locust and 2nd Streets. The second is on Market Street near Harrisburg University and Strawberry Square.

Restaurant Week is Back - September 8 ~ 12 & 15 ~ 19

The Harrisburg Downtown Improvement District (HDID) will soon be tempting your taste buds with Harrisburg Restaurant Week, for not just one, but two weeks of dining pleasure from September 8 – 12 & September 15 - 19. The HDID will also be providing free parking for the event in the River Street Garage, from 5 pm to 9 pm, Monday through Friday during the two week event.

The Harrisburg Downtown Improvement District has joined in the celebration of bike month by purchasing and installing 8 bike racks throughout the immediate downtown area.The bike racks are functional, yet also have an artistic flare having been designed to resemble a bicyclist riding a bicycle.
